Financial Strategy and Governance Role

The University of Cambridge is seeking a highly skilled Financial Governance Specialist to join its Finance team as a Management Accountant. This newly created role will work closely with the Head of Finance, the Finance Lead, and stakeholders across the university.

As a key member of the Finance team, you will be responsible for developing financial strategy in line with the university's strategic priorities. You will provide high-level financial reporting and advice to aid the planning, implementation, and management of the university's finances.

You will be adept at interpreting financial information and confident in presenting to both financial and non-financial contacts within a complex organisation. In addition to being a highly organised individual, you will have expertise in financial and accounting practice, and considerable commercial and financial acumen.

The Finance Team has a hands-on, pragmatic team culture, so a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get actively involved in the day-to-day operations as well as coaching and influencing others to continue to innovate and improve their financial processes is essential.

This is an exciting time to join the University of Cambridge, with an opportunity to channel your drive and passion to help the university achieve its mission and vision while working in a stimulating and supportive working environment.

In return, the university can offer you a competitive package, including excellent benefits such as a hybrid pension scheme, annual leave of 41 days inclusive of public holidays, and fantastic discounts at local businesses and thousands of retailers.
