Lancashire County Council is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Safeguarding Specialist to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families in Lancashire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a team of Children's Services professionals and practitioners, ensuring the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of specialist services for children, young people, and their families and carers.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and experience in social work, working closely with colleagues to deliver effective support and services to children, young people, and families in line with the vision for Children and Families in Lancashire.

The estimated salary for this role is £43,421-£48,474 per annum, plus benefits including flexible working opportunities, professional supervision, and training and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To support the Family Safeguarding Team Manager and work alongside other Children's Services professionals and practitioners to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • To hold a small, complex caseload and provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues.
  • To upskill workers and develop group supervision, use of the LCS workbook, and embedding of motivational interviewing skills.
  • To coordinate and integrate team learning activities and oversee the work of a Child and Family Practitioner.
  • To deputise for the Team Manager as required and work evenings, weekends, if necessary, to meet service requirements.
