Job Overview

As a Family Support Worker with us, you will provide emotional and social support to families experiencing difficulties. You will work closely with children, parents, and carers to connect families to relevant resources and services, fostering a stable and nurturing environment for children and helping families overcome obstacles to leading fulfilling lives.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Provide one-on-one and group support to families, focusing on individual needs and promoting child development, parenting, and relationship-building skills.
  2. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including social services, health professionals, and schools, to ensure coordinated support and access to community resources.
  3. Offer guidance on parenting skills, child behavior, and emotional well-being, as well as provide crisis intervention when necessary.

Requirements:

  1. A minimum of 1 year UK experience working with children and families in a support role, preferably within a community or social care setting.
  2. Must have an enhanced adult and child DBS registered on the update service or be willing to process a new one with Prospero.
  3. Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
  4. Willingness to travel for home visits and community outreach.

Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
