At Made Employment Ltd, we are seeking a skilled Fabrication Specialist to join our team on a back shift. As a Fabrication Specialist, you will be responsible for fabricating pipe sets for various pipe diameters from shop drawings, ensuring company welding procedures are adhered to, and liaising with Quality Control regarding any defects or non-conformances.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience as an established fabricator, including pipe fabrication, and be able to interpret welding procedure requirements. They will also be able to use shop floor hand tools like grinders and hand plasmas, and be happy to work a back shift.

We offer a competitive salary, shift allowance, and pension scheme, as well as full in-house training and career development opportunities. Our team is friendly and supportive, and we have a dedicated departmental budget allocated annually for team building events during working hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take direction from Site Supervisor on work requirements.
  • Read and fully understand the pipe fabrication drawings for each project.
  • Fabricate pipe sets for various pipe diameters (typically carbon steel & stainless steel pipe ranging from 65mm - 500mm) from shop drawings.
  • Ensure company welding procedures are adhered to and pipe preparation and fit up is carried out to the correct standard.
  • Liaise regularly with Quality Control regarding any defects and any non-conformances.
  • Complete Cross Training in various welding activities, so cover can be provided when absences occur in the Welding Department.
  • Ensure Company H&S Processes followed.
  • Ensuring allocated work progresses in a timely manner and in accordance with workload and specifications.
  • To operate MIG/TIG or MMA welding equipment
  • Use precision measurement instruments.
  • Use of metal cutting and grinding equipment
  • Responsible for highlighting any faults or damage to the machine and its tooling.
  • Clean tools, equipment, and work areas
  • Set an example to all personnel when on site.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by management.
