About the Role

Brent Council is seeking an experienced and innovative Head of Learning to lead our education department and drive strategic growth. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering our education program, building partnerships with schools and stakeholders, and securing external funding to support our mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive education strategy that aligns with Brent Council's goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, educational institutions, and local and national support organizations to identify new opportunities and partnerships.
  • Oversee the planning and scheduling of all education projects, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
  • Manage the development and implementation of evaluation frameworks to measure the impact of our education programs.
  • Design and deliver innovative education programs that respond to the needs of our community, including a creative careers pathway offer for secondary schools.
  • Secure external funding from trusts, foundations, and other sources to support the growth of our education department.
  • Prepare annual budgets and ensure regular financial monitoring and reporting against targets.
  • Liaise with the marketing team to promote our education programs through press, social media, and marketing initiatives.
  • Advocate for the work of Brent Council at a regional and national level, building relationships with key stakeholders and influencers.
  • Support the effective flow of communication throughout the organization, ensuring that all staff are informed and engaged in our education initiatives.

  • Proven experience in education leadership, with a strong track record of developing and delivering successful education programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with schools, stakeholders, and colleagues.
  • Strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to develop and implement comprehensive education strategies.
  • Financial management skills, with experience of preparing and managing budgets.
  • Marketing and promotional skills, with experience of promoting education programs through various channels.
  • Safeguarding experience, with a strong understanding of child protection policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge and interest in the arts, with a passion for education and community development.
