Head of Education Leadership

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable arts education senior manager to lead the development and delivery of our strategic plan for education departmental growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for increasing participation, developing school budget allocations for the arts, and expanding our service around a creative careers pathway offer for secondary schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the strategic development of our Learning programme, contributing to the development and delivery of our strategic business plan as a dynamic member of the Senior Management Team.
- Represent the department at Board level, building effective relationships with Learning Sub Committee Chair and link trustee/s.
- Prepare and present reports to Senior Management Team, Board of Trustees, funders, and stakeholders.
- Champion and build on our work in schools and with learning partners, extending existing relationships and identifying new opportunities.
- Develop innovative Learning programmes that respond to need, overseeing the planning and scheduling of all Learning projects.
- Manage the development and implementation of the evaluation framework for the department, contributing to impact frameworks for the wider organisation.
- Design the Learning offer as a component of new external partnerships, for example, as part of new studio developments.
- Manage on delivering the growth of the service with responsibility for achieving key performance indicators.
- Build a creative careers pathway offer for secondary schools.
Requirements:
- Driven and passionate to improve opportunities and outcomes for children and young people.
- An experienced and knowledgeable arts education senior head.
- A thorough understanding of the formal education sector and the needs, challenges, and opportunities for schools.
- Ability to motivate and empower a team with experience of effective performance management.
- An enterprising outlook, with the ability to identify and create opportunities for and with schools.
- Experience of setting and monitoring annual budgets.
- Experience of strategic and operational planning.
- Ability to identify and build excellent professional relationships at a strategic level with key stakeholders.
- Experience in developing successful marketing and sales campaigns and employing effective communication strategies.
- High expectations, driven by experience in evaluation and an understanding of quality in arts and education practice.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Line management experience.
- Safeguarding experience.
- Knowledge and interest in the arts.
What We Offer:
We offer a competitive salary range of £36,500 per annum, a 35-hour working week, and a hybrid working arrangement.
