Job Overview

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing advanced and highly specialist skills, advice, leadership, and education to the multidisciplinary team in the Neonatal Unit. You will work closely with the Paediatric Consultant to coordinate nursing and medical care within the unit and for neonates in Delivery Suite and the postnatal ward.

Main Duties
  • Provides advanced clinical skills, highly specialist advice, and education to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Coordinates nursing and medical care within the Neonatal Unit and for neonates in Delivery Suite and the postnatal ward.
  • Develops and implements clinical protocols to ensure high-quality care for neonates.
  • Works closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic individualized intensive, high dependency, and special care for neonates.
  • Undertakes Tier 1 duties on the Neonatal medical rota and functions at a senior practitioner level, taking on aspects of the role and responsibilities formally undertaken by junior medical staff.

Person Specification

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Neonatal Intensive Care Specialist who possesses the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Neonatal Intensive Care qualification (ENB 405/QIS course)
  • Registered Nurse (BSc Hons degree)
  • Master's degree in health-related subject
  • Advanced Nursing Practice qualification
  • New-born Life Support Provider qualification (UK Resuscitation Council)
  • Safeguarding Level 3
