An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a Band 5 Neonatal Care Coordinator to become a vital part of our enthusiastic and nurturing team within the Neonatal Unit at Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust.
As a key member of our unit, you will demonstrate professionalism, reliability, safety, and compassion towards infants and their families. You will collaborate effectively within our multidisciplinary team in a setting that promotes openness, support, and empowerment.
The Neonatal Unit at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is a Local Neonatal Unit featuring 16 cots, which include 2 for intensive care, 3 for high dependency, and 11 for special care.
Main Responsibilities
- Exhibit high levels of competence and knowledge as a practitioner, ensuring the delivery of outstanding evidence-based care.
- Adhere to the discharge pathway within the neonatal service, providing specialized advice and guidance to parents and colleagues regarding the discharge process.
- Maintain strong working relationships with nursing and medical staff, as well as allied health professionals, to facilitate effective discharge planning.
- Ensure a smooth discharge process for infants with complex needs from the neonatal unit by fostering collaboration among multiple agencies.
- Oversee and mentor junior staff and pre- and post-registration students while ensuring a safe working environment.
- Operate within the established codes of practice, professional guidelines, and organizational policies.
- Encourage the continuous enhancement of clinical standards in conjunction with the application of evidence-based practices.
- Take responsibility for information governance related to discharges for the neonatal unit and ensure data completeness.
- Work autonomously and as part of the multidisciplinary team to develop high standards of neonatal care.
- Comply with all organizational policies and procedures, including health and safety, safeguarding, and manual handling.
- Report incidents in accordance with the organizational incident policy.
