London, Greater London, United Kingdom Amazon Data Services UK Limited - E17 Full time

Amazon Data Services UK Limited - E17 is seeking a highly skilled Pre-Construction Manager to join our team. As a Pre-Construction Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Design Engineering (DE) and other critical partner teams during initial planning, conceptual design, schematics progress, and design development. You will provide cost, schedule, and constructability guidance to ensure the successful delivery of our data centers. Our data centers are industry-leading examples of energy efficient, cost-effective designs. You will work alongside partner teams such as Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning to build data centers that directly support our customers. At Amazon, we are all Owners and leverage unique opportunities presented to us by owning everything from the design review to construction bidding to construction execution and final hand-off to our customers. We are a diverse, upbeat, creative, team of engineers and managers working daily to develop innovative data centers for our customers. Our goal is to find the candidate that has highly developed data center pre-construction knowledge coupled with extensive practical construction and commissioning experience to drive standards in this essential part of our delivery process. If you have experience driving global pre-construction standards, bid documents including the plans, specifications and general requirements to describe all the elements of a construction project and working within a broad design and construction infrastructure environment, then you could be the right candidate. Key Responsibilities: • Drive practical constructability standards in design documentation. • Provide input into global standards and data center template designs. • Perform civil evaluations for potential sites. • Act as the point of escalation for complex constructability issues. • Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals with detail and accuracy. • Create construction project scope and request for proposals. • Financial analysis of construction. • Constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs associated with the construction of new data centers or optimization of existing data centers. • Review bid summaries, schedules and milestones, labor pricing, and perform subcontractor evaluations. About the Team: AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.
