Job Title: Senior Director, Data ManagementJob Summary:

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is seeking a highly experienced Senior Director to lead our Global Data Center Design and Construction team with a focus on the EMEA Region. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our facility infrastructure design standards, technical site selection, and white space and ground up new build construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data center design, construction, and operations, with a minimum of 6 years of professional experience and 2 years of people management experience. Proven technical depth and leadership skills are essential for this role. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of engineers, construction, and commissioning resources to drive the evolution of OCI's facility infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement facility infrastructure design standards and technical site selection requirements
  • Lead the EMEA team in the design, build, commissioning, and delivery of data center critical infrastructure and network capacity
  • Collaborate with other engineering managers in cross-functional efforts across the Oracle Data Center Engineering organization
  • Develop and lead updates to design standards and specifications for consistency, maximum system reliability, and optimal facility utilization
  • Provide mission-critical system review and assessment to support technical site evaluation efforts for new facilities
  • Research new designs, materials, and construction methods for data center equipment and related components
  • Provide and review detailed workflows for change management activities
  • Develop capital project budgets and sophisticated business case analyses
  • Travel to data center sites for building relationships with pre-construction, construction, and QA/QC partners (15% - 25% travel)

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years professional experience in data center design, construction, operations, and maintenance, with minimum 2 years of people management experience
  • Proven technical depth needed to assist in running this unique space, in addition to a strong background of organizational management and leadership
  • Strong leadership skills, and experience in leading teams and projects
  • Experience building trusted relationships with immediate team, external stakeholders, and vendors to influence decisions for the benefit of the business
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Construction, or other engineering fields based around data centers
  • Extensive experience in engineering within the data center environment
  • Must have, in-depth knowledge of data center power and cooling technologies, including associated industry standards such as Uptime Institute
  • Cross-discipline knowledge of complete critical facility systems and design & construction cross-discipline knowledge of pre-construction services
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of data center IT technology, including networks, compute, storage, and mainframe
  • Extensive experience in industry cabling standards (e.g., to drive cabling design)
  • Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and safety standards, including International Building Code
  • Knowledge with AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and PowerPoint software
