About the Job

As a Senior Construction Manager for Amazon Data Centers, you will be part of a diverse team of professionals responsible for the construction and operation of Amazon’s data centers.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage General Contractors on one or more data center construction sites, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.
  2. Oversee and review all disciplines, including civil, structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical, controls, and commissioning, to guarantee project quality and safety.
  3. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement strategic and tactical commercial management of construction contracts.
  4. Support negotiations with general contractors and internal procurement partners, evaluating bids, proposals, and claims with accuracy and detail.
  5. Monitor and report key construction and commercial metrics, including internal schedule, cost, and budget performance.
  6. Lead analysis and resolution of claims and major variations, ensuring project profitability and customer satisfaction.
  7. Provide guidance and support to junior team members, promoting a culture of mentorship and career growth within the organization.
  8. Frequently travel to other data centers, Amazon offices, or vendor premises to support projects and undertake training, with opportunities for international travel.

Requirements

  1. 7+ years in construction site management.
  2. 3+ years responsibility for management of construction contracts and contractors, including involvement in commercial contract administration and cost control processes of large, complex projects.
  3. 3+ years' experience in construction of and interface with live operational/mission critical facilities, e.g., data centers, energy plants, industrial facilities, infrastructure projects.
  4. Ability to operate in a working environment conducted through English.
  5. Demonstrated experience writing in a data-driven persuasive way, influencing decisions.
