About the Role

Foster care is a crucial service provided by Tameside Council to support children in need of care. As a Foster Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of these children.

Salary: £35 per hour

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Child Welfare Professional to join our Fostering Team. In this role, you will be responsible for recruiting, assessing, and monitoring foster carers to ensure they provide a suitable environment for the children in their care.

  1. You will attend Placement Planning Meetings to discuss the best interests of the child and ensure that the foster carer is equipped to meet their needs.
  2. You will work closely with foster carers to ensure they understand their responsibilities and the standards expected of them.
  3. You will provide regular supervision to foster carers, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.

The ideal candidate will have a Social Work qualification (Diploma in social work, social work degree or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. You will have excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
