Staff Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. As a critical member of our accounting function, you will be responsible for executing daily accounting tasks with efficiency and effectiveness in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support accounts payable process, including allocation of expenses to accounts, departments, and grants.
- Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations and analysis.
- Perform reporting and analysis of operational data, such as memberships and attendance.
- Assist in the annual independent audit process.
- Assist with streamlining processes through automation, including system assessments, testing, and implementation.
- Assist with payroll and HR-related tasks.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Equivalent education, experience, and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- 1-to-2 years of finance or accounting experience, preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and ability to provide solutions.
- Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of financial database systems and reporting tools, multiple software programs, especially Financial Edge, Raiser's Edge, and the entire Microsoft suite.
