Job Summary

The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) seeks a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance and Operations to join its team. This key role will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and operational support to the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial plans and strategies to ensure the organization's financial stability and growth.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance and operations department, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to strengthen finance, development, payroll, events, and other auxiliary revenue streams.
  • Manage grants and project budget management, and play an active role in the annual budget processes.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, including staff, faculty, and senior leadership.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to the development team, program team, and senior staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience in accounting or related discipline.
  • Five years in operational accounting required.
  • Strong communication skills to explain and partner effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and knowledge of financials.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Proven ability to understand and work with integrated enterprise software applications and improve processes as needed.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work in a standard office setting, with considerable sitting, standing, and viewing of computer.
  • Requires reaching continually throughout the workday (mouse, keyboard, telephone).
