Financial Management Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Financial Management Specialist to oversee all finance, accounting, systems, and reporting activities. The ideal candidate will manage the accounting software and accounts payable platform transitions while ensuring that our organization has the necessary systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation, execution, and reporting.
The successful Financial Management Specialist will be responsible for:
- Overseeing all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and other regulatory requirements.
- Managing the implementation, training of staff, and conversion of financial data from Financial Edge to the Sage Intacct and Cerify platforms.
- Continuously analyzing financial data and presenting monthly financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicating and delivering monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Managing the department's external financial services and partnerships.
- Overseeing all financial, program/project, and grants accounting; collating financial reporting materials for government, corporate, and foundations grants.
- Managing and tracking the performance of our invested assets in keeping with our organizational spending policy.
- Assisting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in directing the IT strategic near- and long-term goals, and implementing goals to successfully meet ongoing, sophisticated, and evolving IT needs.
- Assisting the team in payroll and 401(k) processing.
A successful Financial Management Specialist should possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
- Commitment to maintaining and stewarding our organization's financial assets.
- Knowledge in the use of not-for-profit accounting software (Sage Intacct or similar product) and Microsoft Office.
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and unwavering commitment to our mission; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, boards, or other outside stakeholders.
- Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments.
- A track record in grants management as it relates to compliance and reporting of government, corporate, and foundation grants is essential.
- A clean and valid driver's license and ability to drive our vehicles.
