About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Yard Manager to join our team at Jewson. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our yard, including managing stock levels, supervising staff, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain stock levels in the warehouse and yard areas, including conducting regular stock counts.
  • Supervise and support a team of staff, including delivery drivers and warehouse operatives.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including welcoming customers to the branch and offering help and advice on our products.
  • Process and prepare customer orders, including loading and unloading customer and supplier vehicles using a forklift truck.
  • Work closely with the management team to achieve business objectives and improve processes.

Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the building materials industry.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to provide a high level of service to customers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours.
