Compassionate SEND Specialist Assistant

Sense Education Limited seeks a skilled and caring Primary Teaching Assistant to join our team and support primary-aged pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the Whitehaven area.
The role involves assisting students with SEN, particularly those with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and non-verbal communication needs, helping them access learning and thrive in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist students with SEN in accessing learning and participating in activities.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to provide individualized support to students.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate with parents/guardians as necessary.
Requirements:
- A relevant qualification or experience working with children or adults with special educational needs is desirable.
- A caring, patient, and empathetic approach towards supporting students.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and maintain confidentiality.
