About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team on Ward 31 at Tunbridge Wells Hospital. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating patient care, leading junior members of the team, and contributing to the development of high-quality care standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate patient care on the ward, ensuring seamless transitions and effective communication with multidisciplinary teams.
- Lead junior members of the team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Contribute to the development of clinical policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring evidence-based practice and adherence to Trust standards.
- Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care.
- Collaborate with the Ward Manager and other stakeholders to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

Person Specification
Essential
- Nursing Diploma/Degree.
- Registered Nurse.
Desirable
- Masters level qualification.
- Mentorship/Practice Assessor qualification.
Experience/Knowledge
Essential
- Experience at band 5 level or equivalent in a surgical/orthopaedic environment.
- Experience in acute nursing.
- Ability to manage change.
- Knowledge of clinical audits.
- A working knowledge of the use of research in developing nursing care and clinical protocols.
- Understanding of principles and processes involved in Clinical Governance.
- Have an in-depth knowledge of the issues surrounding the scope of professional practice and accountability.
