Orthopaedic Nurse Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team on Ward 31 at Tunbridge Wells Hospital. As a key member of our orthopaedic trauma nursing team, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating patient care, completing thorough nursing assessments, and participating in audits to ensure the highest standards of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead junior members of the team and provide guidance and support as needed
- Manage patient care on the ward, including coordinating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery
- Conduct thorough nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
- Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives to drive excellence in patient care
- Support the Ward Manager in achieving goals and objectives, including reducing length of stay and improving patient outcomes

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Nursing Diploma/Degree
- Registered Nurse
- Experience at band 5 level or equivalent in a surgical/orthopaedic environment
- Experience in acute nursing
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Masters level qualification
- Mentorship/Practice Assessor qualification
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage change and prioritize tasks effectively
- Basic IT skills
- Clinical skills in acute practice
