Logistics Business Development Manager

Freight Personnel is offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled Telphone Business Development Manager to join their team. Based from the client's MIDDLESBOROUGH site, this role covers THE POSTCODES areas of TS and surrounding regions.
This Depot Sales Manager position involves working for a leading Courier and Parcel delivery business that focuses on next-day or scheduled courier deliveries. They also provide secure services for the delivery of valuable items.
The company operates a private members delivery network catering mainly for the legal, financial, and public sectors. This position offers an excellent salary of approximately £35,000 Basic, flexible plus car or car allowance, high commission, and other excellent benefits.
Key responsibilities include:
- Exceeding personal new business targets.
- Building close relationships with contacts within prospective customers.
- Developing market sector development plans within designated catchment areas.
- Collaborating with Service Centre General Manager & Sales Director to implement sales strategies and business plans.
- Tracking performance of new customers and ensuring they trade according to agreed profiles.
- Submitting accurate and timely business forecasts.
- Chairing weekly Sales & Ops Meetings.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Extensive experience in either the delivery/logistics sector or Retail, FMCG sector.
- Strong sales skills, including prospecting, qualifying, networking, and campaign management.
- Professional sales and negotiating training.
- Proven ability to exceed new business targets while excelling at customer retention.
- Able to travel within designated territories and work with minimal supervision.
- Mastery of Microsoft (Excel, Word, Email, Access, PowerPoint).
Benefits include a company car (Mercedes A Class, Audi A3, BMW 1 Series) or car allowance, pension, and 25 days' holiday. The total additional earnings potential is £20,000 to £25,000 per annum.
