Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Technical Support Engineer to join our team in Glasgow. As a key member of the Siemens Mobility team, you will work closely with Production, Technical, and Performance teams to support the maintenance and reliability improvement of our fleet.

Your primary responsibility will be to investigate rolling stock casualties and undertake maintenance and repair tasks to meet production plan requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate rolling stock casualties with minimal supervision and perform maintenance and repair tasks as required.
  • Mitigate the risk of in-service failures through proactive intervention.
  • Download and process train diagnostic data, undertaking fault finding to an advanced level.
  • Act as Siemens representative on shift, providing technical support to Operator's maintenance staff.
  • Respond to trends in unit defects and make recommendations for possible mitigations and countermeasures.
  • Undertake performance analysis duties during periods of downtime or absence (site specific).
Requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of Rolling Stock systems/procedures including schematics, fault finding techniques, and download analysis.
  • Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or higher) and experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety including bio-hazards, manual handling, and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
  • Ability to fault-find using various methods including diagnostic software.
Salary Information

The salary for this role is £26.60 per hour PAYE or £33.13 per hour umbrella rate.
