Care and Support Worker for a Young Child

Job Description
We are seeking a caring and experienced worker to support the development of a happy and inquisitive 6-year-old girl. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and be able to provide physical support when needed, while also promoting independence and confidence.
The role involves supporting the child in various activities such as reading, drawing, swimming, and gymnastics. The worker will also need to ensure her safety and well-being at all times, particularly when engaging in activities that may pose a risk.
An understanding of SEND is desirable, but what is most important is having the right attitude and being willing to build a supportive relationship with the child. Training and information can be provided by her parent, who has a thorough understanding of her needs.
The working hours for this role are 4 days per week during term time and 12 days per week during school holidays. The exact schedule can be discussed with the family. This is a fixed-term position until the end of November 2024. The hourly rate of pay is £13.50, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the child in various activities, including reading, drawing, swimming, and gymnastics
- Ensure the child's safety and well-being at all times
- Provide physical support when needed, promoting independence and confidence
- Build a supportive relationship with the child and her family
Requirements
- Experience working with children, preferably with SEND
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide physical support and promote independence
