At GSL Education, we are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Special Educational Needs Support Assistant to join our team at a school in Braintree. Job Summary
We are looking for a caring and patient individual to provide one-on-one and small group support to children with Special Educational Needs. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to develop tailored learning experiences, monitor student progress, and provide constructive feedback.
Responsibilities
- Learning Support: Assist students with Special Educational Needs in achieving their academic and personal goals.
- Collaboration: Work with teachers and other support staff to design and implement individualized learning plans.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Classroom Management: Contribute to maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and develop effective support strategies.
Requirements
- Experience: Previous experience as an SEN Support Assistant or in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Understanding: Knowledge of various Special Educational Needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities.
- Attitude: A caring, patient, and positive attitude is essential for success in this role.
- Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork skills are required to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
- Commitment: A strong commitment to helping children achieve their full potential is essential.
