Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team as a Special Needs Education Support Professional. This role will involve providing dedicated support to a student with special educational needs, working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to create and implement a personalised learning plan.

As a Special Needs Education Support Professional, you will be instrumental in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering strong relationships with the student and their family, and supporting the student's overall development and well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to understand the student's specific needs and develop effective strategies for support.
  • Implement and adapt educational plans to meet the student's individual learning requirements, ensuring they receive the best possible education and outcomes.
  • Provide one-on-one assistance to the student during classroom activities and lessons, promoting their engagement and participation.
  • Foster positive relationships with the student, promoting their well-being and self-esteem.
  • Support the implementation of behaviour management strategies tailored to the student's needs, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with parents and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to the student's support, including regular communication and updates.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with experience of providing 1:1 support to students with SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting individual student success.
  • Initiative and a willingness to collaborate with the teaching team, contributing to the development of innovative strategies and solutions.
