About the Role

Bell Cornwall Recruitment is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to support two fee-earning solicitors in a high street law firm in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have a background in conveyancing and excellent IT skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Document Management: Scanning and filing correspondence and documents in a case management system.
  • Correspondence and Documents: Preparing and typing correspondence, documents, and forms.
  • Matter File Management: Opening, updating, and closing matter files and recording client data.
  • AML Compliance: Dealing with identification documents and ensuring Anti-Money Laundering procedures are followed.
  • Mail and Enclosures: Preparing and dispatching mail and enclosures.
  • Telephone Liaison: Handling internal and external calls, taking accurate messages, and passing them on to the relevant fee earner.
  • Diary Management: Maintaining an up-to-date diary for fee earners and making appointments.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 2 years' experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably in Residential Conveyancing.
  • Organization and Communication: Excellent organization skills, with the ability to manage a busy workload and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in using IT systems and able to learn new systems quickly.
  • Self-Management and Attention to Detail: Displays a can-do attitude, high degree of self-management, and excellent attention to detail.
