Job Description

**Job Title:** External Assessor

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled External Assessor to join our team at City & Guilds. As an External Assessor, you will be responsible for assessing and documenting learner competence against qualification standards, using stated assessment methods.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Assess and document learner competence at centres or remotely

**Requirements:**

  • Hold one of the current assessor qualifications, for example, Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence on the Work Environment or the A1 Assessors Award or D32/33 units or a practice assessment/educator qualification recognised by Social Care Wales.
  • Hold a social work qualification recognised by Social Care Wales, with experience gained working in a regulated environment relevant to social care.
  • Experience gained working with the Social Services Practitioner qualifications (desirable)
  • Be occupationally competent and maintain occupational competence through clearly demonstrable continuing learning and professional development.
  • Assessments can be carried out remotely so applicants can be based anywhere in the UK.
  • Although not essential, the ability to speak, read and understand written Welsh would be advantageous.

**What We Offer:**

  • Training for the role will be provided following the successful review and vetting of your application.
  • External Assessors are contracted on an annual basis and are not directly employed by the City & Guilds Group, making it an ideal opportunity to become an External Assessor in addition to your current role.
