About the Role

Cathcart Technology Careers is seeking a Senior Data Engineering Team Leader to join our team in Edinburgh. As a key member of our data engineering department, you will be responsible for managing a predominantly Agile and small team of 6 to 12 data engineers of varying levels.

Cathcart Technology Careers is a globally known software business based in Edinburgh. We have over 1,000 staff and operate across a very specific area of online sales and are focused on travel. We have offices in London and Scotland, and are continuing to grow and be productive, even in a tough market at the moment.

About the Team

You will be managing a team of data engineers who are currently without a manager due to internal promotions. The team is looking for someone with a strong and innovative data engineering background and experience of managing small and Agile teams. It would be great if you have an understanding of data architecture as well as an input into systems design.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a small team of 6 to 12 data engineers of varying levels
  • Lead the development of the team and ensure they grow and develop as individuals
  • Work closely with the data architecture team to design and implement systems

Requirements

  • Strong data engineering background
  • Experience of managing small and Agile teams
  • Understanding of data architecture and systems design
