Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to lead and develop our service, working closely with a vibrant team to improve and implement care provision for adults with learning disabilities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions for individuals, families, and carers.
  • Lead and develop the team, ensuring high standards and continuous service improvement.
  • Work closely with community and inpatient teams to deliver highly specialist psychological care.
  • Provide expertise, advice, and support to facilitate effective and appropriate provision of psychological care.
  • Champion improvement through effective change management and ensure equality and diversity values underpin the day-to-day working of the practice area.

Requirements
  • Doctoral level training in clinical psychology or Counselling Psychology, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and two or more distinct psychological therapies.
  • HCPC registration and registration with a professional clinical body (BPS).
  • Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS.
  • Leadership and change management skills, with the ability to understand the wider implications of actions.
