Job Title: VAT Director

Job Description:

TPF Recruitment is assisting a well-established and reputable firm of chartered accountants in their search for a VAT Director to strengthen their indirect tax team in Kent and the Southeast. This advisory-focused position will oversee the compliance function, working with a diverse range of clients across the South-East. The role offers excellent career prospects, including future partnership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the VAT team on all areas of VAT advice
* Conduct technical research on various topics and keep the wider tax team informed of technical developments
* Draft reports and letters of advice for clients across various industries
* Liaise with clients and attend meetings
* Develop business opportunities through marketing and client engagement
* Manage and develop members of the VAT team

Advisory Exposure:

* Lead topical advisory matters for clients across the practice
* Advise businesses on VAT-efficient structuring of their affairs
* Provide VAT considerations for international trade
* Implement partial exemption special schemes
* Offer ad-hoc advice on a wide range of VAT matters for the firm's diverse client base

Requirements:

* Significant experience providing VAT advice, working within a practice environment, in-house, or at HMRC
* Broad exposure to most areas of UK VAT, with a working knowledge of EU VAT requirements as they apply to UK businesses
* ACA / ACCA / CTA or equivalent, or qualified by experience

Benefits:

* Highly competitive salary dependent on experience and background, negotiable- circa £90,000- £100,000 per annum
