TPF Recruitment is assisting a well-established and reputable firm of chartered accountants in Maidstone, Kent, in their search for a VAT Director to strengthen their indirect tax team in the Southeast.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the VAT team on all areas of VAT advice, providing technical expertise and guidance to clients.
- Conduct technical research on various topics and keep the wider tax team informed of technical developments.
- Draft reports and letters of advice for a diverse range of clients and industries.
- Liaise with clients and attend meetings to provide advisory services.
- Develop business opportunities and market areas of expertise.
- Manage and develop members of the VAT team.
- Lead topical advisory matters to clients across the practice, providing expert guidance and support.
- Advise businesses on VAT-efficient structuring of their affairs, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Provide guidance on VAT considerations for international trade, helping clients navigate complex regulations.
- Implement partial exemption special schemes, ensuring clients' VAT obligations are met.
- Offer ad-hoc advice on a wide range of VAT matters for the firm's diverse client base.
- Significant experience providing VAT advice, preferably in a practice environment, in-house, or at HMRC.
- Broad exposure to most areas of UK VAT, with a working knowledge of EU VAT requirements as they apply to UK businesses.
- ACA/ACCA/CTA or equivalent qualification, or qualified by experience.
- Highly competitive salary, negotiable, circa £90,000-£100,000 per annum.
- 25 days holiday (plus public holidays) and the option to buy or sell up to 5 days.
