SEMH Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting a Year 5 pupil with SEMH needs in a 1:1 setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to the pupil, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Implement and adapt support/intervention programmes for SEND, ensuring the pupil's needs are met.
  • Work collaboratively with the pupil, teachers, and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop and maintain a nurturing and kind mindset, providing a safe and supportive space for the pupil to thrive.
  • Utilize effective behavioral management strategies to promote positive behavior and reduce challenging behaviors.
Requirements:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of support/intervention programmes for SEND.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a kind mindset.
  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs.
  • Compassionate and proactive approach to supporting pupils with complex needs.
  • Successful experience working with children and young people.
  • Passion for inclusive education and promoting positive outcomes for pupils.
