SEMH Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEMH teaching assistant to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd. As a SEMH teaching assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting a SEMH pupil in Year 5, providing guidance and care on their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 support to a SEMH pupil in Year 5
  • Implement support and intervention programmes for SEND
  • Work collaboratively with the client and other professionals to develop and implement individualised plans
  • Use behavioural management strategies to support the pupil's emotional and social development
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of support and intervention programmes for SEND
  • Patience, nurturing, and kind mindset
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs
  • Compassionate and proactive approach to supporting pupils
