Job Description:

Job Summary:

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of expertise in youth justice practice, policy, and legislation. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and managing complex cases, providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues, and supporting the management team in improving practice and quality of assessments.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and manage complex cases of children and young people who are at risk of offending or have offended.
  • Develop intervention plans to promote positive change in the lives of children and young people.
  • Work collaboratively with key partner agencies to ensure effective support and guidance for families and individuals.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues on youth justice practice, legislation, and policies.
  • Safeguard the well-being of children and young people by ensuring accurate and timely recording of information on the YJ database.

Requirements:

  • A level 6 professional qualification in social work or probation, or a degree-level qualification in a relevant subject (e.g., psychology, criminology).
  • Substantial experience in youth justice, preferably in a leadership or management capacity.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

  • An estimated salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
