Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Residential Care Manager to lead our children's residential home. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the home operates in compliance with regulatory standards, providing exceptional care and support to children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the residential home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted and other regulatory bodies.
  • Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of each child.
  • Lead, supervise, and support a team of care staff, fostering a positive and professional environment.
  • Manage staffing, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure effective communication with children, families, and external professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with policies and legislation.
  • Promote safeguarding practices and ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
  • Engage with children in a way that encourages their participation and promotes their voices.
  • Develop and manage the budget for the home, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the quality of care provided.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working with children in a residential or similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development and safeguarding principles.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures affecting children's residential care.
