Special Education Needs Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Needs Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel, working 1:1 with a Year 3 pupil who has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at a primary school in Wellingborough. This role is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Support Professional passionate about helping children with additional needs achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will have proven experience working with children with ASD in a school setting, ideally within Key Stage 2. They will be able to build a trusting relationship with the child, encouraging their growth and participation. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with ASD, using effective strategies to enhance learning and engagement.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where the pupil feels secure, supported, and motivated.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to develop individualized learning plans.
- Implement strategies that support the social, emotional, and academic needs of the child.
- Track and report the pupil's progress to ensure consistent support and adjustments where necessary.
Salary: £85 per day
This is a temporary position, however, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
