Gold Care Homes is a leading national independent Care Homes group for the elderly, established in 1999 and operating 34 care homes across the South of England. Our group offers a range of services including residential, nursing, frail elderly, and dementia care.

Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Advise all departments on health and safety matters, liaise with enforcement authorities, and respond appropriately.
  2. Review and update health and safety policies and procedures in line with changing legislation and business needs.
  3. Monitor health and safety performance through statutory reporting and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  4. Ensure all managers and departments understand and comply with health and safety legislation.
  5. Provide suitable and sufficient health and safety training for all staff, relative to their jobs.
  6. Conduct health and safety audits and inspections of homes and departments, ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and company procedures.
  7. Keep senior management and the board informed of policy changes and implement proactive processes to implement them.
  8. Attend annual health and safety audits conducted by an external service provider.
Requirements
  1. NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
  2. Proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager in the care industry is desirable.
  3. In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
