BSL Interpreting Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated BSL Interpreting Specialist to join our team at We Manage Jobs (WMJobs). The successful candidate will provide interpreting services for D/Deaf learners in a college setting, enabling them to access their course and interact with academic staff and peers.
- Key Responsibilities:
- To provide high-quality interpreting services as required, including front-of-class interpreting during teaching
- To work closely with the assigned Communication Support Worker to ensure allocated students can reach their potential through education, providing a high-quality inclusive working environment
- Supporting D/Deaf learners outside of the classroom (assignment work, breaks, etc.) and extracurricular activities, such as educational trips or work experience
- Work with tutors to create effective lesson plans, evaluating and adjusting lessons/work plans where necessary
- To raise awareness with staff and students of factors that may adversely affect the quality of communication available to D/deaf students, as appropriate
- Building glossaries of technical language for D/Deaf students
- Promoting equality and integration of D/Deaf students
**Salary:** £25,275.84 - £28,014.96 per annum (pro rata) **Location:** WMJobs College Campus
