Audio Quality & Manufacturing Engineer

Our client, a leading company in the manufacturing sector, is currently seeking an experienced Audio Quality & Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in a dynamic and supportive environment. This is a permanent role within a company renowned for its excellence in recording and manufacturing, with a history of working on high-profile projects and collaborating with renowned artists.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct quality control of incoming and outgoing materials and products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting unacceptable materials.
  • Develop skills in CAD, electronics, and mechanical engineering for loudspeaker design, manufacturing processes, and acoustic principles.
  • Develop listening skills through detailed customer-focused inspections, audits, and final sign-off for outgoing products.
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste, and inputting data into a quality database.
  • Ensure audio testing is carried out in production correctly.
  • Maintain measurement and audio test equipment by following operating instructions and maintaining calibration records.
  • Review and update QC procedures and returns policies.
  • Support the Quality Manager in resolving production and supplier-related quality issues.
  • Aim to continually improve quality standards by offering suggestions where appropriate.
  • Produce inspection audit reports to identify quality problems within the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
Requirements:
  • Experience in audio and music technology.
  • Ability to develop listening skills and excellent hearing.
  • Knowledge of electronics and audio testing principles, including audio circuits and components.
  • Experience with audio analysers is desirable.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and electronic schematics.
  • Experience with inspection measurement tools such as calipers and gauges.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Windows 10, Excel, Word, and MRP (SAP B1) knowledge and experience.
  • Driving license and transport for travel between production sites in Luton and Sandy.
Desirable:
  • Experience or knowledge of BSEN ISO 9001:2005 Quality Management Systems.
