About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Bid Manager to lead our competitive tendering efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the entire bid lifecycle, from initiation to contract award.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage competitive tendering efforts, ensuring timely and effective delivery of bids.
  • Review and monitor bid progress regularly, resolving or escalating issues as necessary.
  • Develop and implement bid strategies, identifying partners and articulating a value proposition.
  • Source and coordinate design input to ensure exceptional visual standards for all documentation and presentation materials.
  • Ensure the quality of all bid documentation, including written content and presentations.
  • Conduct detailed customer, project, scope, stakeholder, or competitor research to better understand opportunities.
  • Ensure all bid documentation is clear, concise, and compelling.
  • Understand customer requirements, timing, costs, risks, features, competition, and other factors impacting bid content and strategy.
  • Manage risk, including risk identification and mitigation planning throughout the bid process.
  • Ensure compliance with company governance processes and maintain strategic direction of all bids.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of the company and wider sector dynamics to ensure appreciation of broad scope of knowledge and content required to satisfactorily respond to commercial tenders and commercial private engagements.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of multi-disciplinary bids and commercial proposals, ranging from multi-million-pound programs to smaller, complex projects.
About You

We are looking for an experienced Bid Manager with a minimum of 3 years' experience managing the entire bid lifecycle. Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent and be APMP or Shipley trained, although this is not essential.

  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to create high-quality, compelling responses.
  • A strong leader who can drive improvements projects and implement them across the wider business.
