Job Title: Project Health and Safety Manager

Location: Hull

Salary: £65,000-£70,000 per annum plus package

A leading contractor is seeking a Project Health and Safety Manager for a major civil engineering project in Hull. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) activities on-site to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the company's HSE policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement health and safety plans, risk assessments, and safe work practices.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, providing root cause analysis and recommendations.
  • Deliver HSE training and toolbox talks to the site team and contractors.
  • Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to ensure safety protocols are integrated into the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with external bodies, including regulatory authorities and auditors, regarding health and safety issues.

Requirements:

  • Diploma-level qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in managing health and safety on large-scale civil engineering projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience working with a Tier One contractor is advantageous.
