Job Title: Consultant in Acute Medicine With Recruitment and Retention Premium

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Consultant in Acute Medicine to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Acute Medicine department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Acute Medical Unit on Ward A400, providing clinical leadership and overseeing new admissions and referrals.
  • Manage the Medical Same Day Emergency Unit, working closely with the Emergency Department to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Provide leadership of the Acute Medical Take, managing referrals and supervising junior doctors.
  • Contribute to the development of our services, working collaboratively with colleagues to improve patient outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Full and specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligibility for specialist registration within six months of interview.
  • Experience of teaching medical students and supervising trainees.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and clinical colleagues.
  • Knowledge of NHS priorities and clinical governance principles.
