Job Title: Consultant in Acute Medicine With Recruitment and Retention Premium

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Consultant in Acute Medicine to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Acute Medicine department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in Acute Medicine, ensuring high-quality patient care and outcomes.
  • Lead and manage clinical teams, including consultants, junior doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement clinical strategies to improve patient care and service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of our Acute Medicine services, including service redesign and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
Requirements:
  • Full and specialist registration in either AIM or GIM with the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligible for specialist registration within six months of interview.
  • Experience of teaching medical students and supervising trainees.
  • Knowledge of teaching to a multidisciplinary team and ability to present effectively to an audience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, clinical colleagues, support staff, and other colleagues.
  • Good knowledge of, and ability to use, spoken and written English.
