Job Summary

The Maternity Support Worker - Community Care Specialist will provide high-quality care to women and their babies in the antenatal and postnatal periods. This role involves delivering direct care, providing education on good parenting models, and enabling women and their partners to care for their babies independently and effectively.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will contribute to the success of the multidisciplinary team in delivering an excellent, professional, and compassionate maternity service to women, babies, and their families. This will involve providing direct care to women and their babies, developing knowledge and understanding of the needs of the newborn baby, and giving practical support to mothers with the care of their babies.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a Care Certificate, a UK driving license, and experience in a role involving caring for others or providing customer services. They will also be flexible in their attitudes and behaviors to support team working and delivery of objectives. Further healthcare training and BFI/Infant Feeding Experience or Training are desirable but not essential.
