Job Overview

The Estates Team Leader will be responsible for leading the implementation and delivery of the Estates and Sustainability Strategy across the Multi Academy Trust. This role will involve developing and improving the Trust's estates and site staff teams, ensuring effective and efficient management of school sites and grounds.

Main Responsibilities

  1. To proactively lead in the implementation and delivery of the Estates and Sustainability Strategy, ensuring all aspects of Health and Safety legislation are reflected in the highest of standards.
  2. Develop and improve the Trust's estates and support site staff teams, ensuring effective and efficient management of school sites and grounds.
  3. Ensure all aspects of Health and Safety (legislation and implementation) are reflected in the highest of standards, ensuring all schools in the Trust are safe and legally compliant.
  4. Ensure a high level of performance from all school contracts.
  5. Support Project management, and/or work closely with external project managers, on school refurbishment, building improvement works and ICT.
  6. Travel independently to all the schools currently within their Trust, as well as any new schools who may join in the future.
  7. Oversee the management of all aspects of their IT systems (Outsourced managed provider) and networks, leading their technical team and providing support to their schools where required.
Requirements and Qualifications
  1. Management and/or Facilities related qualification(s)
  2. Experience of managing premises in an educational setting
  3. Experience of managing staff
  4. Building maintenance
  5. Experience of Emergency planning and Contingency
  6. Drafting and contribution to the development of policies, procedures and work practices
  7. Resource management & strong problem-solving skills
  8. IT skills
  9. Strong organisation and administration skills
