About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our team in Somerset. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to young people with complex needs, helping them to achieve their personal potential and develop the skills they need to live independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead shifts and deputise for the Service Manager as required
  • Ensure you are up to date with all mandatory learning and development
  • Communicate with the on-site team and raise awareness of individual care plans and their implementation
  • Maintain accurate written records in logs, continuation sheets and files
  • Contribute to team and staff meetings to facilitate good communication and staff development
  • Provide support and care to the young people within our services
  • Encourage young people in their preparation to re-enter education or engage in their current schooling/college
  • Travel with young people to and from school or college
  • Support young people to build independence skills, including budgeting, preparing food at meal times and maintaining the home

About Us

Requirements
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence
  • Must have the desire to earn a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent Children & Younger Peoples workforce
  • 12 months senior experience working in a Residential setting is highly desirable, but we also encourage applications from those at the start of their journey
  • Requirements for DBS and reference checking will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practice
