Job Title: Building Surveyor Contract Full Time

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Mane Contract Services.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the commercial aspects of projects, preparing and submitting monthly applications for payment, managing project variations, and monitoring and analyzing monthly cost reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the commercial aspects of projects, including preparing and submitting monthly applications for payment.
  • Manage project variations and general change management.
  • Monitor and analyze monthly cost reports to produce month-end reports.
  • Attend meetings to progress or finalize project accounts.
  • Identify, review, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
  • Gain familiarity with standard contract forms, including NEC3 and JCT.
  • Negotiate subcontract terms and conditions with clients and contractors.
  • Draft subcontracts, value subcontractor work, and certify interim and final payments.
  • Enhance cash flow through effective control, measurement, valuation, invoicing, and cash collection.
  • Receive training and support to aid in professional development.
  • Report directly to the Commercial Manager.
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying (Degree, HNC, or NVQ preferred).
  • 2 years of experience preferred, but candidates with relevant experience or qualifications will also be considered.
  • Understanding of electrical systems is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong IT skills, especially in MS Office, with a focus on Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team attitude.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Methodical approach and proactive learning ability.
