Engineering Director for Large Language Models

We are Apple Inc., a leading technology company, seeking an experienced Engineering Director to lead our Applied Machine Learning team in developing next-generation Siri experiences. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing strategic projects that drive innovation and impact the future of our products.
About the Role:
This is an exceptional opportunity to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and deploy large language models, driving advancements in machine learning and natural language processing. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of Siri and other Apple products.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strong leadership skills, including management, planning, and coordination of projects and teams.
* Proven industry experience in machine learning, preferably in large language models.
* Excellent project management skills, including project structuring and managing work streams interdependently.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills, able to distill sophisticated technical requirements into coherent roadmaps.
Requirements:
* PhD or MSc in Language Technologies, Machine Learning, or a closely related field.
* 5+ years of industry experience in machine learning, preferably in leading projects and coordinating work across teams.
* Experience with modern machine learning algorithms, including large language models.
Salary:
The estimated salary for this role is $250,000-$300,000 per year, depending on experience.
