Linux Performance Tools Developer

Our Quick Tools team collaborates with the development community and product teams to provide free, high-quality tools and libraries. These tools focus on solving performance analysis problems, porting applications to the Arm architecture, and delivering highly performant software.
We seek a passionate individual who can help us build tools that drive energy-efficient computing. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and techniques used by developers to deliver high-performance software on Arm.
This position is based in our Manchester office, which hosts various teams from across Arm.
Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the Quick Tools team to extend, develop, and maintain our suite of tools.
- Design and develop new tools, working with developers and stakeholders to determine requirements.
- Contribute to new features, including work planning, feature design, and user experience consideration.
- Deliver high-quality software engineering with code reviews, testing, and adherence to modern agile methodologies.
- Produce excellent supporting documentation and user guides to help developers leverage Arm technology.
To succeed in this role, you will possess the following essential attributes:
- Ability to write and review code in C, C++, and Python.
- Domain experience with debugging performance problems on Linux and Windows systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with external developers.
- Proven experience delivering work as part of a team.
- Meaningful experience in developing cross-platform software (Linux, Windows, macOS).
- Familiarity with modern software development practices, including source control, automated testing, object-oriented or functional paradigms, and agile methodologies.
- A degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
- Practical experience working with the Arm architecture (e.g., performance profiling Arm-based systems, writing intrinsics, porting applications to Arm).
