About the Carers Service (Carers Centre)

The Carers Centre provides comprehensive support to carers of all ages, offering advice, information, and solutions to unpaid family carers in Telford and Wrekin. Our team works collaboratively with carers to identify and register family carers, ensuring they receive the necessary support and solutions throughout their Carers Journey.

We employ a strength-based asset approach to establish support networks for carers, leveraging their existing connections and resources. For more complex cases, we facilitate a person-centered approach, connecting carers with a range of professional services to maintain their well-being and that of their cared-for individuals in the community.

Our service offers tailored support, group advice, and community outreach work, including one-to-one support, family support, and respite activities. We are committed to delivering exceptional support for unpaid family carers across Telford and Wrekin.

Key Responsibilities
  1. To support the service in identifying unmet need, setting priorities, and contributing to the local carers strategy.
  2. Ensure the service provides person-centered support to carers, enabling them to remain safe within the community.
  3. To supervise and support the staff team, overseeing the supervision of volunteers.
  4. Recruitment, induction, supervision, and annual appraisal of staff members in line with CVS procedures.
  5. Information and Reporting Requirements
    1. Maintain records providing statistical information for monitoring and evaluating the service.
    2. Oversee the service, developing and progressing delivery to meet the needs of carers - adult and children.
    3. Provide regular team reports on the service's work for CVS Senior Management and external funders.
    4. Participate in budget setting, financial control, and management in line with CVS financial requirements.
    5. Network with local, regional, and national agencies to develop collaborative working practices and links.
Hours of Work

Normal office hours are Monday to Friday 9. Out-of-hours work and a flexible working pattern will be necessary. Time off in lieu can be arranged (overtime is not paid). The post holder will be required to complete a questionnaire to assess any health and safety workplace needs through the Local Authority's Occupational Health Service.
