About the Role

We are seeking an organised and proactive Facilities Coordinator to join our Facilities Management team at Northumbria University. The successful candidate will support the delivery of a range of facilities services across our City and Coach Lane campuses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Facilities Manager in the delivery of facilities activities across the campuses, including coordination and supervision of services and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with external contractors and vendors to ensure quality service delivery and adherence to university policies.
  • Operate to deliver an effective and cost-efficient service to Service Level Agreements, aligned with customer needs.
  • Provide management and supervision within your area of responsibility.
  • Monitor and manage service activity, budget, health and safety, and develop management information for future planning, organisation, and decision-making.
About the Team

Working within a small team of Facilities Coordinators, the post holder will principally be located at City Campus but may have responsibilities for and be expected to attend Coach Lane campus and visit other University buildings as required by the Facilities Manager.

About You
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the work practices, processes, and procedures relevant to the role.
  • Ability to work as an effective team member in supporting the university strategy and other activities for the benefit of your area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrable experience of working within facilities management and delivering service solutions on a scale comparable with role requirements.
  • Experience of effectively managing large groups of staff, planning and organising the activities of yourself and/or others, and working independently dealing with unforeseen problems and circumstances.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional customer service and proactively identifying and implementing changes which have measurable business benefit.

We are an on-campus organisation where colleagues work regular patterns of hours and on campus, with some flexibility on the timing of their hours and the location of their work in discussion with their manager.
